Your questions, answered plainly
No jargon, no evasion — the things families ask us most, grouped so you can find what you need.
Still unsure? Kirsty is happy to talk it through
First steps and enquiries
Start with a phone call or the enquiry form — tell us what is worrying you. Kirsty arranges a free, no-obligation home visit, recommends only what is genuinely needed, and introduces matched carers when you are ready.
Kirsty visits at a time that suits you, meets your loved one in their own home, and listens to daily routines, concerns and preferences. She explains what Aurora could offer — and is honest if we are not the right fit.
None at all. Many families take time to think, talk to siblings, or compare options. We will follow up gently — never with pressure.
Often within a few days of agreeing a plan — sometimes sooner for urgent situations. We will always be honest about timing at the first conversation.
What we provide
Yes — most clients receive a blend of personal care, household help and companionship in a single visit. Kirsty designs the plan around the person, not separate product lines.
Absolutely. We review regularly and adjust hours or tasks without fuss. Many families start with companionship and add personal care later — or the reverse.
We can discuss live-in and overnight cover during your home visit. If it falls outside what Aurora offers directly, Kirsty will say so and help you find a trusted alternative.
Yes — many of our clients live with dementia or memory difficulties. Carers are trained in dementia-friendly communication, and Kirsty reviews medication and behaviour changes clinically.
Yes. Visits typically start from one hour and can scale up as needs change. There are no rigid package minimums — care is built around the person, not a spreadsheet.
Areas, hours and getting a quote
Every plan is built around one person, so we do not publish fixed prices. After a free home visit, Kirsty gives you a clear written quote with no hidden fees — and is honest if something falls outside what Aurora can offer.
We are local-first across Dorset & Somerset. Call us with your postcode — we will tell you straight away whether we can reach you.
TODO: confirmed office hours. For medical emergencies, call NHS 111 or 999.
Kirsty or Kayleigh — not a call centre. You will speak to the people coordinating your care directly.
Trust, training and supervision
Every carer is DBS-checked, fully trained and supervised before they visit a client. Kirsty, our Lead Nurse, oversees recruitment personally — we do not use agency rotas or unnamed cover.
We protect continuity fiercely. Your loved one gets to know their carers — not a rota of strangers. When cover is unavoidable, we explain who is coming and why.
Kirsty will say so plainly and point you towards someone who is. No pressure, no hard sell — your loved one's wellbeing matters more than filling a diary.

If your question is not here, call or send an enquiry — we would rather talk it through than leave you guessing.
