Meet the team

Real people you'll come to know

Named faces, direct mobile numbers, and nurse-led oversight — not a call centre or a rotating agency roster.

Kirsty Sellick
Kirsty Sellick Company Director & Lead Nurse
25 years' nursing 07786 438301

Kirsty founded Aurora after twenty-five years in nursing, district nursing and community care across Dorset and Somerset. She still leads every home assessment personally — clinical judgement behind the ordinary moments that matter most.

Families know her mobile number, not a switchboard. When something changes — a fall, a new prescription, a worried phone call at teatime — Kirsty is reachable and honest about what Aurora can and cannot do.

Kayleigh Wade
Kayleigh Wade Director
Operations & client liaison 07805 884945

Kayleigh keeps day-to-day care running smoothly — matching carers to personalities, coordinating visits, and making sure families always know who is coming through the door.

She is often the first voice on the phone after Kirsty's assessment — arranging start dates, adjusting hours when needs change, and chasing the small details that stop families feeling left in the dark.

How we recruit carers

Five steps before anyone visits a client

We would not send someone into your home unless we would trust them with our own family.

1
Face-to-face interview

Every carer meets Kirsty or Kayleigh in person before they meet a client. We look for warmth, reliability and the instinct to treat someone as family — not a checklist tick.

2
Enhanced DBS check

Enhanced DBS clearance is mandatory, renewed on schedule. No exceptions, no agency cover without the same standard.

3
Reference checks

We speak to previous employers and personal referees — verifying experience, punctuality and how they behave when no one is watching.

4
Induction training

Medication awareness, safeguarding, moving and handling, dementia-friendly communication — tailored to the clients they will support.

5
Ongoing supervision

Kirsty reviews care plans clinically; Kayleigh checks visit quality and family feedback. Carers are supported, not left to manage alone.
