Personal care is often the first conversation families put off — until a missed wash or an unsteady step makes the worry impossible to ignore.
Help with washing, dressing, grooming, toileting and safe movement around the home — always at your loved one's pace, with the same carer wherever possible.
Older people recovering from illness, those living with frailty or dementia, and anyone who wants to stay at home rather than move to residential care.
Kirsty visits for a free home assessment, agrees exactly what is needed with you and your loved one, then introduces a matched carer before any care begins.
Keeping home feeling like home
When the laundry piles up or meals become an effort, it is often a sign that a little regular support would make the difference between coping and struggling.
Meal preparation, light cooking, laundry, changing beds, tidying and small household tasks — practical help that restores calm to the day.
People who are otherwise independent but finding daily tasks harder — and families who need reliable cover alongside personal care or companionship.
We agree a realistic list of tasks during the home visit, match a carer who fits the household, and adjust the plan as needs change — no rigid packages.
Company that eases the quiet days
Loneliness is as real a reason to call us as any clinical need. A familiar face for conversation can change the whole feel of a week at home.
Shared conversation, hobbies, reading, gentle walks, games and quiet presence — whatever makes your loved one feel seen rather than supervised.
People living alone, those whose family cannot visit as often as they would like, and anyone recovering from bereavement or a stay in hospital.
We learn about personality and preferences at the home visit, then introduce a carer chosen for warmth and fit — not simply availability.
Getting out safely, on your terms
Staying at home should not mean staying indoors. Many families contact us when a parent has stopped going to appointments or lost confidence on the high street.
Escorted trips to shops, garden centres, cafés and social visits, plus steady support at GP, hospital and dental appointments.
People with reduced mobility or confidence, those who no longer drive, and families who cannot take time off work for every appointment.
We map the outings and appointments that matter most, agree realistic timings, and assign a carer who knows the local area and your loved one's routines.
Clinical oversight, delivered gently
Missed doses and confusion over tablets are among the most common triggers for family worry — and among the clearest reasons to want nurse-led oversight.
Prompting and monitoring medication, communicating with the GP surgery when something changes, and clinical review of every plan by Kirsty as Lead Nurse.
People on multiple prescriptions, those with memory difficulties, and families who need reassurance that medication is being managed safely at home.
Kirsty reviews current prescriptions during the home visit, liaises with the GP if needed, and ensures carers are trained on the specific regimen before visits begin.
Plain guidance when more help is needed
Home care rarely exists in isolation. When something needs a district nurse, physiotherapist or social worker, families often feel left to navigate alone.
Help contacting GPs and district nurses, preparing for assessments, and explaining what to expect — in language that makes sense, not jargon.
Families facing a maze of NHS and social care contacts, and clients whose needs are changing and may require services beyond what Aurora provides.
Kirsty assesses what is needed, makes introductions where she can, and is honest if Aurora is not the right service — pointing you towards someone who is.
Nurse-led care, named people
Every service sits within a nurse-led team — DBS-checked, trained and supervised — not an anonymous agency roster.
About our services
Yes — most clients receive a blend of personal care, household help and companionship in a single visit. Kirsty designs the plan around the person, not separate product lines.
Absolutely. We review regularly and adjust hours or tasks without fuss. Many families start with companionship and add personal care later — or the reverse.
We can discuss live-in and overnight cover during your home visit. If it falls outside what Aurora offers directly, Kirsty will say so and help you find a trusted alternative.
Often within a few days of agreeing a plan — sometimes sooner for urgent situations. We will always be honest about timing at the first conversation.
